Values

As a small, agile, responsive technology company, we regard ourselves as having partners rather than customers; two way, long term, mutually beneficial relationships.
 
At A&W we believe in taking our partners’ IT problems and making them our own, allowing our partners to focus on their core business.
 

Our purpose is to de-obstruct their chosen paths, making them more productive, efficient and innovative.
 
As an organisation, we’re excited by every new relationship we enter into; we look forward to sharing ideas, technology, design concepts, solutions and business benefits.
 
We believe perfection is unattainable; rather, we believe real value and benefit can be delivered by great solutions that are engineered to a high quality and are further refined and improved by subsequent iterations.
 
We have a culture of ownership throughout our organisation. Day to day, this means that our partners’ problems are being driven to resolution, so they can get on with running their business.
 
We believe in transparency. Our contracts are clear and unambiguous but we focus on the relationships; we don’t see the need for constant recourse to contractual arrangements, instead working in partnership as though our client is our sole source of income for a long period of time.
 
When something isn’t quite right, we’ll own the problem and work with our partners to put it right, in the right way, iterating quickly towards the right solution.
 
We only bring the best people to A&W; we hope that this is self evident from our existing relationship. Our technicians are motivated, experienced and skilled – and totally focused on Sabisu.

  History

A&W was founded by Jo Sharpe in 2009 on the belief that too many technology services companies were not sufficiently user or customer focused; that ownership of problems should reside with those that deliver the solutions; that transparency builds trust; that long term relationships are the only way to do business.

Our values are all about removing obstacles that make our customers inefficient; we want to set them free.

So we thought we should make it easy to aggregate data from legacy/cherished/other systems and deliver it to a user; so easy in fact, that it would dispense with fat client reporting tools or having to phone the IT guys; so easy, the end user could just get on with it.

We also thought that email was a really bad way to share data and that it shouldn't take more than a couple of clicks to share that data with anyone you trust...whoever they work for and wherever they are.

And isn't the point of generating all that data to make your organisation better? And don't organisations get better by using that data to make better decisions? We thought that data and processes should sit together, so that business decisions can be made in the right context.

Our customers liked the sound of this enough for us to iterate through some prototypes, culminating in an alpha release of Sabisu in August 2010, followed by beta in November 2010 and a first live version in January 2011. In its first incarnation, Sabisu delivered on it's key promises and we're not stopping there...it continues to get easier to use and yet more capable.

A&W is based in the UK in Teesside and Manchester. A&W is privately owned by it's founders and team.
